Celebrating Pride with resources and education
This month is a great opportunity to not only celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community but to also learn more about the issues and obstacles to equality. Research is a vital component of this work and is instrumental to creating policies, practices, and procedures that improve lives.
To highlight and facilitate access to this research, we have created the LGBTQIA+ Research microsite, which pulls together free journal articles, book chapters and video content. Some of the topics covered by the collection include Queer Theory, Gender Identity, Queer Justice, Hegemonic Heterosexuality, Sexual Orientation, and more.
Often this research is intersectional and interdisciplinary and has ramifications on all the social, behavioral and health sciences. If you would like to learn more, follow @SAGE_Publishing where we will also be spotlighting LGBTQIA+ researchers and activists throughout June using the hashtag #QueerinSBS.
We will also be running a free online event on Queer and Trans perspectives in Academia on the 29th June, featuring Dr Andrew Delatolla, Marquis Bey and Megan Todd. Find out more and register for tickets on Eventbrite.
