Celebrating U.S. Women's Equality Day
U.S. Women’s Equality Day commemorates the adoption of the 19th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, which prohibited the government from denying voting rights on the basis of sex. However, the fight for voting rights was far from over for those who identified as women, particularly for women of color who faced discrimination from state laws through poll taxes and literacy tests.
Below you will find a collection of open access resources from SAGE that highlights topics related to women’s history, equality, gender equity, and intersectionality from a diverse set of disciplines. These resources aim to explore the biases, stereotypes, and discriminatory behaviors that continue to contribute to inequalities for people who identify as women today.
