SAGE Partners with the Amos Bursary
In line with our aspiration to increase diversity in our workplace, we partnered with The Amos Bursary in late 2020.
SAGE is keen to play a proactive role in supporting the development of the next generation of BIPOC & BAME leaders and this partnership enables us to engage directly with those young people. The Amos Bursary does excellent work developing the talent of young Black British people from disadvantaged backgrounds by providing them with support and high challenge so they can thrive in today’s climate.
SAGE was delighted to take part in the Amos Bursary’s ‘Welcome’ event on 30th January 2020. It gave us an opportunity to meet these bright and talented young people and talk to them about careers in publishing.
The event was attended by over 200 young people and Kiren Shoman, VP Editorial Pedagogy, showcased SAGE’s story with them, which included a video showcasing different roles across the business, contributed by our colleagues. We have made a commitment to provide mentors for these young people and are currently recruiting SAGE colleagues to step forward and fulfil that promise.
