Anaesthesia and Intensive Care to be published by SAGE Publishing in partnership with the Australian Society of Anaesthetists

SAGE Publishing will be publishing the journal Anaesthesia and Intensive Care as of January 2019. This is in partnership with the Australian Society of Anesthetists.

The flagship title of the Australian Society of Anesthetists, the journal provides articles for healthcare professionals and researchers relating to the fields of anaesthesia, pain and critical care medicine. The only anaesthesia journal based in Australia and New Zealand, it provides a unique Australasian perspective and focus, yet also an alternative option for researchers from outside the region.

Editor in Chief, John Loadsman, remarked:

“After 47 years of in-house society publication, we are very excited about this new phase with the journal being published by SAGE, an international publisher with a developing presence in STEM. With the rapidly changing face of biomedical and scientific publication, we believe this will allow us to better serve our authors, our editors, the Society Membership, institutional subscribers and other readers of the journal.”

Mark Carmichael, Chief Executive Officer, Australian Society of Anaesthetists, commented:

Anaesthesia and Intensive Care is a journal that provides a platform for research and debate. This new publishing partnership will allow the journal to expand its global reach and therefore the research forum that it offers to those interested in the field.”

Tessa Picknett, Executive Director, STM Journals, SAGE, added:

Anaesthesia and Intensive Care is a notable addition to SAGE’s medical portfolio, as an internationally-recognized journal in this important field. We look forward to working with the esteemed editorial board and the society on developing the journal for its readers across the Australian Society of Anaesthetists; Australian and New Zealand Intensive Care Society, the New Zealand Society of Anaesthetists, and beyond”.
