New Lean Library App Helps Patrons Conduct Research On The Go
Lean Library, a browser extension from SAGE Publishing that delivers library services directly into the patron’s workflow, has launched a new mobile app, Academic Browser, to further improve remote access.
Offering the same experience as Lean Library’s extension, Academic Browser enables patrons conducting research using search engines, direct links, or their library’s digital platform to access their library’s resources, open access alternatives, and support via a popup. The app is available at no additional cost to patrons at libraries that subscribe to Lean Library and does not collect or store personal information.
“The events of the last few months have seen unprecedented demand for our remote access services,” says Matt Hayes, incoming managing director of Lean Library. “With over a 35% increase in unique active users so far this year, taking our services mobile is essential in continuing to help libraries support their patrons’ research wherever and however they research. We see this as the first step in an exciting new phase of product development.”
The app is available now for iOS and an Android version will be available soon.
