Sage agrees new publishing partnership with the Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje
We are delighted to announce that Sage has become the new journal publishing partner of the Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje (FIA). The partnership, which will begin in January 2024, replaces Taylor & Francis (T&F) as the official publishing partner.
Established in 1978, FIA Journals originally emerged as a significant platform for Spanish content dedicated to psychology and developmental studies, attracting readership across Spain and most parts of Latin America. In 2014, all FIA Journals started publishing in English as well as Spanish. Today, they publish content from authors hailing from all over the world, and they reach readers from institutions worldwide. This wide reach is indicative of the importance of maintaining scientific conversation in multiple languages, a mission that is deeply valued by both Sage and FIA.
Miguel del Río, Director of Publications at FIA, said “We are elated to join Sage’s outstanding portfolio of journals. Joining one of the world’s best publishers represents a wonderful opportunity for our community of readers, authors, reviewers, and Editorial Board members to continue our expansion into new markets, while at the same time preserving our roots and our identity. As we strive for scientific excellence, we are thankful to Sage not only for their amazing responsiveness to our bilingual publication model, but for also sharing our belief in the importance of independence for the development of science.”
“This new partnership with FIA reflects Sage’s commitment to building bridges to knowledge,” said Kerry Barner, Humanities and Social Sciences Publisher at Sage. “We believe in the power of diverse voices, and by partnering with journals that promote scholarly conversation in other languages, we hope to foster a more inclusive academic environment."

About FIA
Fundación Infancia y Aprendizaje is a fully independent, non-for-profit scientific foundation based in Madrid, Spain, dedicated to researching, publishing and promoting scientific knowledge of human development, with a strong emphasis on culture, psychology and education.
In a rapidly changing world, the study of cultural, psychological and educational human development is key to the generation of alternatives that grant a better future.
Since 1978, through our activities of promotion and spreading of human science research, we have worked to provide firm theoretical grounds and concrete practical tools with which to face current problems and development potentials.
About Sage
Sage is a global academic publisher of books, journals, and library resources with a growing range of technologies to enable discovery, access, and engagement. Believing that research and education are critical in shaping society, 24-year-old Sara Miller McCune founded Sage in 1965. Today, we are controlled by a group of trustees charged with maintaining our independence and mission indefinitely.
Our guaranteed independence means we’re free to:
Do more – supporting an equitable academic future, furthering disciplines that drive social change, and helping social and behavioral science make an impact
Work together – building lasting relationships, championing diverse perspectives, and co-creating resources to transform teaching and learning
Think long-term – experimenting, taking risks, and investing in new ideas
