SAGE Publishing launches SAGE vantage, simple-to-use course platform for teaching and learning
SAGE Publishing announces the launch of SAGE vantage, a digital course platform for instructors and students designed to enable time-effective and evidence-based teaching, engaged learning, and critical thinking. The platform offers instructors a three-step course set up, auto-grading, integration into institutional learning management systems (LMS) through single sign-on, and more.
Vantage assists students in their understanding of course materials through knowledge checks, interactive multimedia activities, and chapter tests with personalized and directional feedback. The launch of Vantage supports SAGE’s commitment to championing affordability and choice for students and high quality content in a variety of formats to aid all types of learners.
“SAGE College texts are written by expert authors who write in a way that speaks to students,” says Michele Sordi, Senior Vice President and Head of US College at SAGE Publishing. “With Vantage, our goal was to create an easy-to-use platform with SAGE’s quality content at the core that solves real problems for instructors. Vantage lets them focus on teaching while simultaneously creating a learning experience for students that boosts their engagement and critical thinking.”

“We spent years listening to instructors and students,” continues Sordi. “We’ve sought out instructor feedback, researched how to optimally drive student engagement and critical thinking, and conducted thorough user testing in order to strike the right balance between functionality and ease of use.”
Vantage extends SAGE’s mission and core organizational values into a digital learning environment by supporting the impact of the social and behavioral sciences to empower citizens, policy makers, educators, and researchers of the future.

User testimonials:
“With Vantage, I set up my course in under 10 minutes, which is unheard of...And it benefitted students, they did all the right things in all the right places. I love Vantage!”
—Karin Machluf, Instructor, Penn State Scranton
“What excites me most, is that now SAGE has a digital platform to complement their textbooks. We know that the scholarship has always been there, but with this digital platform, it will truly elevate the content to allow students to learn and utilize the resources they are already familiar with.”
—William Parent, Instructor, San Jacinto College
“What I most like about Vantage is that my students are coming into class prepared… Student performance after implementing Vantage is incredible. It used to be out of 40 or 50 students, I had 4 or 5 A’s… and now instead of having that bulk of grades in the C’s, they’re in the A’s. We know that reading increases performance, but this is a really tangible way to see that.”
—Karen Deeming, Instructor, Merced College
