SAGE rings in 2019 by winning 6 awards

SAGE Publishing is pleased to announce the reception of a Modern Library Award (MLA) for SAGE Video and five Choice Outstanding Academic Title Awards for SAGE Research Methods, The SAGE Encyclopedia of Abnormal and Clinical Psychology, CBT for Beginners, CQ Press Voting and Elections Collection, and Statistics with R: A Beginner’s Guide

The MLAs recognize elite products and services for the library community. Products are scored based on quality, functionality, value, customer service experience, and overall satisfaction by librarians who have experience with the product or service. SAGE Video, which showcases educational videos across key social science disciplines for research and learning, received a Gold award, scoring 8.15 overall based on a 1-10 scoring system.

The judges commented:

“The topics and themes are relevant, which is so helpful since librarians are constantly trying to support the research, teaching, and learning at our institution. Librarians are always looking for comprehensive, go-to resources for research and this is one of the best. Plus, students love video! Overall, SAGE does a great job of trying out new topics that will become strong areas of academic focus in the coming year or so. This kind of forecasting is so needed in the industry and a welcomed reminder to librarians that vendors can be partners in the information access realm.”

Choice’s annual Outstanding Academic Titles list honors the best in reviewed scholarly titles– approximately ten percent of some 6,000 works. This year, five SAGE resources and titles of various subjects received this award: SAGE Research MethodsCQ Press Voting and Elections CollectionThe SAGE Encyclopedia of Abnormal and Clinical Psychology edited by Amy Wenzel, CBT for Beginners by Jane Simmons and Rachel Griffiths and Statistics with R: A Beginner’s Guide by Robert Stinerock. Choice Reviews are a publication of the Association of College & Research Libraries, a division of the American Library Association.

In 2018, SAGE also received two APEX awards and four Textbook and Academic Authors Association (TAA) Awards.

SAGE continues to expand its list of resources for the academic community, expanding into new subjects and developing products that address changing industry needs. To learn more about SAGE’s offerings, visit our website.
