scite and SAGE Publishing Sign Indexing Agreement to Increase Discoverability and Reproducibility Through Smart Citations

scite, an award-winning platform for discovering and evaluating scientific articles, and leading academic publisher SAGE Publishing have partnered to index SAGE articles on scite to enable the creation of Smart Citations for enhanced discoverability and evaluation.

Smart Citations show how a scientific paper has been cited by providing the context of the citation and a classification describing whether it provides supporting or disputing evidence for the cited claim. This indexing partnership provides scite access to the full text of all SAGE articles to create Smart Citations.

SAGE is an independent academic publisher of leading journals across disciplines including social sciences and humanities, engineering, physical sciences, and medical sciences. The partnership with scite will enable increased accessibility and engagement with SAGE-published research and support researchers to better evaluate their research impact.

Josh Nicholson, co-founder and CEO of scite says, “We’re excited to be working with SAGE to help researchers better discover and evaluate research. SAGE is a leading publisher in many areas where scite had limited citation coverage so this particular indexing agreement should help many researchers do better research.”

Helen Duce, Executive Product Manager at SAGE, says “We’re delighted to be partnering with scite and supporting the development of their Smart Citations to include SAGE journal content. This will broaden the scope of contextualised citations for researchers, and enhance the discoverability of SAGE research”.
