In 2019, SAGE began a partnership with Leading Routes, a UK organization that works to increase that number by preparing the next generation of Black academics by strengthening the academic pipeline.

Their ‘Broken Pipeline’ report, which analyzed the key factors that limit the number of Black PhD students and academics in the UK.

They also host a number of events under the title “Black in Academia.” The campaign aims to further the conversation about representation and experiences of Black students and staff in UK universities.

In February 2020, Leading Routes and their future scholars met at our London office to talk about scholarship applications, finances, acceptances, and constructive feedback.
