SAGE and IReL Sign Transformative Agreement to Expand Open Access Publishing Opportunities for Irish Researchers
Irish library consortium IReL has signed its first transformative open access agreement with SAGE Publishing. The three-year Read and Publish deal will provide expanded open access publishing opportunities for corresponding authors at IReL member institutions.
IReL provides access to world-class e-resources to higher education institutions across Ireland. This transformative agreement will enable member institutions to access SAGE’s portfolio of over 1100 journals across the Humanities, Social Sciences, and Science, Technology and Medicine. Other benefits include:
Unlimited, free open access publishing in SAGE Choice hybrid titles.
Read access to SAGE’s full Premier 2021 collection of over 1100 journals from 1999-current issue.
A 20% discount on article processing charges for articles published in SAGE’s Gold Open Access journals.
“IReL is very pleased to transition our long-standing subscription agreement with SAGE to a Read and Publish deal,” said IReL Manager Jack Hyland. “This will greatly expand our access to SAGE journals and over the three-year term will allow hundreds of IReL affiliated authors to make their articles open access on publication”.
“SAGE is delighted to be partnering with IReL to expand the publication and reach of critical research in the social and behavioral sciences and technology and medicine fields,” said David Ross, SAGE’s Vice President of Open Research. “This agreement will provide researchers across Ireland with increased support throughout the publishing journey and towards greater research impact.”
